- Applications welcome from all interested individuals
- If applying with less than four members we will connect you with others to form a team – teams consist of five to six
- Team members can be cross-disciplinary and multi-institutional
- Multiple teams from the same university, faculty, school or department may apply to compete - there is no limit on the number

Eligibility
You can enter YES2026 if, at the time of participation, you are:
- a technician
- registered as a postgraduate
- Master, PhD, postdoctoral researcher or research fellow
- an early career academic or knowledge exchange
- completed a PhD, postdoc or fellowship typically within the past 18 months
- maximum of two in a team
There is no age limit for those wishing to participate.
Participants welcome from universities outside of the UK but need to cover their own travel costs.
Cost
The cost to participate in YES2026 is £650 per person. Cost is VAT exempt.
YES2026 is a hybrid learning experience with a mixture of face-to-face and online delivery. Cost excludes travel and subsistence.
Payment will be requested on completion of an individual registration form – this will be sent once your team application has been accepted.
For payment, you will be sent an invoice from the University of Nottingham’s Payment Services.
Please note, payments are non-refundable unless a medical certificate or similar evidence can be produced.

Funding
Please seek financial support from your own institute/university in the first instance.
If financial support is not available from your own institute/university, apply for the "unleash your ingenuity" award as part of the individual registration process†.
For UK technicians, working in universities and research institutes, places are FREE. Approval from a line manager is part of the individual registration process† to ensure the participant has support to fully engage in YES2026.
