Participating in the competition has been of great value to me, giving me skills outside of those I would learn during my PhD such as finance and policy, broadening my understanding of the complexity of running a science based company and the importance of interdisciplinary team work. It has also made me more aware of other career paths that are open to me after my PhD. Most importantly the whole experience has been really enjoyable and it's been interesting to meet other researchers from across the country.

It ends-up being more hands-on and captivating to learn directly from entrepreneurs. It also allows us to get an idea of their careers paths, which is valuable information to shape and inspire our own professional and personal development.

Being involved in this experience has been very enriching both personally and professionally. I have met wonderful people and gained several skills I didn't think I could ever develop. Now I know that it is possible and feasible to explore options other than working as a scientist in the academy and I feel more confident about developing an industrial/entrepreneur profile in the future.

The workshops and competition have been fantastic and provided an unparalleled learning opportunity for me. Absolutely great way to see the process of how one goes from taking a scientific idea and developing it into a product.
